Hello fellow Scion tC owners: this morning driving to work I notice in my 2006 tC my door ajar indicator keeps flickering and most times stays on. when I parked I close driver door but if I'm not fast enough to lock it will come on again and wont be able to lock it with remote. but if I close the door and be fast locking it with the control it will lock the car and stays off. I searched in forums but it seems no one had that problem before. any pointer will be appreciated it
Did you figure out the problem? I replaced my door jam switch in my 4runner. I bet that's the problem. Let us know the outcome. It helps teach us newbs

Hello yota , for your question kind of. I replaced the driver's side once , was still doing it. replaced the passenger one and was still doing it . (with brand new ones0 I re-replace the driver's againg with the original switch then I had the car running for a few minutes then started working normal up to this date. hopefully its ok now. just keeping watching it. thanks

hey sarge.. did you replace it with an aftermarket and then re-installed the factory switch? or was it a toyota brand switch the whole time?
good morning . I bought it in Ebay but it has Toyota labels as Switch Assy. Courtesy Lamp- part number 84231-60070. so far so good. I think the system need it to reset itself. after I started the car and leave it running for a few minutes went back to normal.

hey sarge, had some time now to respond. Ok so it is a Toyota part. Interesting how it had to reset itself, but if it's fixed now then awesome!
Literally just started having this problem yesterday.

Going through the process of figuring out which switch it is now. I've been disconnecting the battery to prevent draining. The continuous beeping while driving is enough to make you lose your mind on a 3 minute ride.

It's my understanding that the the sensor switch for the rear hatch is built into the door latch mechanism?

I'll update once I fix mine as well!
Its kind of tricky. At first i thought it was driver side. Then had to replace passenger side. Then have start the car for a few minutes for reset.
